Refractory Raw Materials
Refractory raw materials are natural and synthetic high temperature resistant mineral raw materials. The refractory aggregate and powder are combined into a whole, and various binders, mineralizers, etc. that can maintain a certain strength under production and use conditions without compromising its performance are called auxiliary raw materials for refractory materials.
Classification of refractory raw materials
Semi-acid raw material
Mainly refractory clay. Refractory clay is the most basic and widely used raw material in the refractory industry.
Neutral raw material
Neutral raw materials are mainly chromite, graphite, silicon carbide (manufactured)
Alkaline refractory raw material
Mainly magnesite, dolomite, lime, olivine, serpentine, high alumina raw materials (sometimes neutral)
Special refractory materials: mainly zirconia, titanium oxide, beryllium oxide, cerium oxide, thorium oxide, yttrium oxide, etc.
Silicon raw material
Quartz, tridymite, cristobalite, chalcedony, flint, opal, quartzite, white silica sand, diatomaceous earth, these siliceous raw materials contain at least 90% of silicon oxide (SiO2), and the pure raw materials have silicon oxide as high as 99%. %Above.
Al2O3-SiO2 series refractory raw materials: silica, semi-siliceous clay (including pyrophyllite), refractory clay (including kaolinite) and its clinker, bauxite and its clinker, corundum and industrial alumina, etc.
Alkaline refractory raw materials: calcined materials such as limestone, dolomite, magnesite, brucite, forsterite, etc. or electric fusion materials, magnesium aluminum spinel, magnesium chrome spinel sand, etc.
Other refractory raw materials: zircon (including zirconia), chromite, carbides, graphite, nitrides and borides, etc.
Heat insulation refractory raw materials: perlite, vermiculite, diatomite, mineral wool, floating beads, refractory fibers and hollow balls, etc.
